Tezpur University is a higher educational university established in the year 1994 under the act of Parliament. Tezpur University has been established in Assam to promote interdisciplinary courses to enhance employable skills amongst students. The university has been accredited by NAAC with an A Grade and has established the center for distance and online education to disseminate education in all parts of the country and to the people who cannot afford to continue their higher studies for any reason. The university is currently offering postgraduate programs, postgraduate diploma programs, and certificate programs in distance mode with the help of an online mode of learning. 

Tezpur University has been recognized by the University Grants Commission and Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB). Hence, all the distance courses provided by the university are approved and valid everywhere. Tezpur University has adopted UGC regulations 2020 and hence it provides various online programs now.
