Punjab Technical University is providing Distance Learning courses to the students to impart quality education to them.
The Distance Education Bureau of University Grant Commission has given recognition to the open and distance learning program provided by the Punjab Technical University.
The university offers various programs like Information Technology(IT), Management, Commerce, and Journalism & Mass Communication through distance education methods.
Punjab Technical University provides Self-Learning-Material (SLM) to the students which are designed by the expert faculties of the university and also provides the PCP facility for the students so that the students can clear their doubts by face to face interaction with the faculties.
The objective of the distance learning program offered by Punjab Technical University is to impart affordable, relevant, skill-based & remunerative Professional Education to the students of the country.

Is IKG-PTU a State University or a Private University?

IKG- PTU is a State Government University established under Punjab Technical University Act, 1996 (Punjab Act No. 1of 1997).

Are courses offered by IKG-PTU recognized by UGC?

Yes, all the courses being offered by IKG- PTU under Distance Education mode are recognized by UGC. The nomenclature of all the courses is created as per the UGC approved list. Accordingly, the students getting PTU DEP degrees will never face a problem while applying for any job/ higher studies anywhere.

How can I use the library facilities?

You can visit campus and after marking the entry to the Library Entry Register, you can use the Library facilities.

What is SLM?

It is Self Learning Material. It is specially designed for students who intend to self-study.
