Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vidhyalaya is situated in Chitrakoot under the great Padma Vibhushan Nana Ji Deshmukh. By the government of Madhya Pradesh under legislative At (9, 1991) on February 12, 1991. The university has also been accredited by NAAC with Grade ‘A’ in the year 2015 in the very first cycle. This university distance & online education started in the year 1991 and in the dual mode. The aim of starting this university is to offer education amongst rural areas by keeping in mind the need for education and the shortage of universities in the rural areas. 

This university is offering many UG, PG courses in both modes, distance or in regular mode too. This university is also UGC-DEB approved and HEI approved. It has IGNOU recognition too under HEI regulations. All the courses provided by this university are approved and valid degrees.
