Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) is a distance learning university situated in Guwahati, Assam. The university has tailored various and online and distance learning programs. KKHSOU was established in the year 2005 under the provisions of the KKHSOU Act, 2005 which was enacted by the Assam government. The university is approved by the UGC and offers UG, PG, diploma and Ph.D. courses.

The university was started with an objective to promote distance education and make it reach every corner. KKHSOU has a motto known as ‘Education Beyond Barriers’ and hence, promotes education beyond the barrier of age, background, or any region. Moreover, the university focuses on imparting knowledge through distance learning to the areas where it is difficult to reach.
