Gandhi Institute Of Technology And Management is also known as GITAM. It is located in 3 cities of Karnataka state of India – Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. GITAM has been founded in 1980 and now it has denoted as deemed to be university. Gandhi Institute Of Technology And Management is affiliated with BPUT, AICTE, NAAC, NBA, IAO. This deemed to be university is recognized by the University Grant Commission and Minister of Human Resource Department as Category 1 which shows the popularity and the quality of education provided by this university to students.

The university has also established its own Centre for Distance Learning in 2009, recognized by the Distance Education Council on the recommendation of the Joint Committee of UGC-AICTE-DEC.
