Dibrugarh University is a higher education university in Assam established in 1965. Dibrugarh University is a state university and has been enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. The university is situated at Rajabhat which is five kilometers away from the south of Dibrugarh town with a well-equipped campus that spreads across 550 acres.

The university established its Directorate of Open and Distance Learning in 2001 in order to make education accessible to everyone. The university offers PG, PG Diploma, Ph.D. programs in streams like Management, Humanities, Physics, Maths, Chemistry, and many others. 

Dibrugarh University has gained accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A Grade and this accreditation are valid up to 2022. The university has been driven by research and innovation in its learning process and striving to become the leading institute of research and learning.
